چکیده

Aim: Migraine, a complex, multifactorial neurovascular brain disorder, might cause several functional and morphometric changes in the brain. Despite many studies, consensus has not emerged on its pathophysiology, it is fully elucidated so far. Recently, changing structures migraine with aura been attracting attention of scientific periphery. The brainstem critical region pathogenesis migraine. Another transition point craniovertebral junction. Regional pathologies trigger off neurodegenerative neurological diseases by affecting hydrodynamics. Moreover, there insufficient data relationship between present study aimed to make volumetric analysis volume without aura, perform some angular linear measurements junction, evaluate effects these parameters patients. Material Methods: retrospectively analyzed Magnetic Resonance Images 108 patients (aged 18 65). Their volumes were measured using volBrain (online MRI volumetry system). Also, junctions derived from images. obtained transferred SPSS 22 package program analyzed. Results: mean was 17.21±2.79 cm3 group, 17.33±2.48 19.27±2.76 control group. There no statistically significant difference groups (p>0.05). both (p<0.05). Furthermore, clivus-canal angle significantly different patient groups. Conclusion: found that lower (with aura) than angles show this issue should be more comprehensively studied.

Pediatric Craniovertebral Junction Surgery

The craniovertebral junction (CVJ) has attracted more attention in pediatric medicine in recent years due to the progress in surgical technologies allowing a direct approach to the CVJ in children. The CVJ is the site of numerous pathologies, most originating in bone anomalies resulting from abnormal CVJ development. Before discussing the surgical approaches to CVJ, three points should be borne...

Biomechanics of the Craniovertebral Junction

The craniovertebral junction (CVJ) consists of the occiput and the first two cervical vertebrae, and functions as an articulation point capable of complex motions distinct from the remainder of the spinal column. These unique features make the CVJ more mobile than any of the other joints in the cervical spinal column, and important biomechanical properties must be understood in order to properl...
